Thank you for your love, care, and endless support for the Seoul Women's Hotline. Thanks to your kind love, the Seoul Women's Hotline has been able to provide counselling for the victims of domestic violence and rape, give them legal support and shelters for 20 years since its foundation in June of 1985. We have helped many suffering women. We succeeded in big issues like the Family Law Amendment, Sexual Violence Special Law enactment, and Domestic Violence Prevention Law enactment. But not satisfied yet, we are still working to strengthen women's rights. With the continuous effort to do the job as Korea's best human rights advocate for the last 20 years supported by each one of it's members, more victims have been calling us for support, and an increasing number of volunteer workers and visitors are willing to give us their time and support. But, they all say in one voice. "I don't know how all this work can get done in a small office like this.", "It's so tiring to walk up five flights of stairs for counselling.", "I can hear voices in the next room because of the thin walls. I feel so claustrophobic in this narrow room with all the counselling and work files piled up high." We have been always sorry for not being able to provide a more comfortable space for the hardworking counsellors and the women whose souls and bodies are already tired. Hereby, we would like to make our little dream come true. It doesn't have to be a luxurious office. We just hope to have our own small place to call our own, so that we won't have to move our twenty years' worth of files, a place that can provide comfort and coziness to counsellors and victims. In a comfortable and stable atmosphere, we believe that our work could be done more fully. So we are waiting for your kind help. We are thankful for the continued love and support you've shown us so far. We would like to ask for your assistance in helping us get our new small home. |
